The Era of an End

The End of an Era.
Edgar Mireles

In 2009 film manufacturing for photo cameras was completely discontinued.
Digital cameras had taken over into the next step of photography, making film obsolete.
In 2010 we can see how other technologies are replacing movie rentals as we know it. This is a soundslide about the downfall of Hollywood video.

Pictures 1-2: Hollywood video on University DR. At this point, the store had been going out of business for about a month.

3-5: Everything must go, The empty shelves and every piece of furniture its also for sale.

6-7: Trying to get answers. (I thought this would be the only appropriate time to include my voice hence the guy's answer alone didn't make much sense)

8-10: John Garza, retailer at Hollywood, declines to give us a straight answer. His manager has already talked to The Monitor.

11: Last 5 days!

12-14: Desolation rows.

15-17: Matt Lozano, a frequent customer, talks about his theory of rental demise.

18-21: Jesus Ortiz, doing some field work advertising the ultimate sale.

22: Hollywood video on 10th street McAllen.

23-24: A successful clearance.

25: Peggy Atkinson, a not so frequent renter, admits her renting preferences.

26-28: The red invasion.

29: The era of an end, Hollywood video on University DR finally closed their doors on May 8th 2010.
